Robert R .Westerville, OHDecember 3, 2008Sen. DeMint should be seated on the Senate Finance Committee. It's time that Republicans featured a voice with strong conservative convictions instead of the "me-too-but-less" philosophy that has made us an all-but-powerless minority.

Glenn M .McGehee, ARDecember 3, 2008Most of our elected officials have abandoned us for themselves. If the American people don't wake up, we are going to be a 3rd world country in less than 10 years. What a shame it is that as soon as some one is elected, greed takes over and rules the person. They start running for re-election as soon as they are elected. God help us!

William D .San Diego, CADecember 3, 2008Over the last century, our government's spending habit has increased 10,000 fold, yet the ordinary citizen has received so little in return. It is time to start reducing the spending back to the levels appropriate to what the ordinary taxpayer receives in benefits. I think 1910 levels are appropriate, given how little we get for our tax dollars. Putting Sen. DeMint on the Finance Committee is a welcome step towards this end.
Carl H .Easley, SCDecember 3, 2008x
David S .Phoenix, AZDecember 3, 2008x

Mickey D W .Rome, GADecember 3, 2008Sen. Jim DeMint would be an excellent choice to serve on the Finanace Committee. I heartedly support Sen. DeMint and his principles of proper government spending.
Thomas T .San Angelo, TXDecember 3, 2008All of the above!!!!
Robert B .Orlando, FLDecember 3, 2008If you don't wholeheartedly support the principle of individual freedom embodied in the US Constitution, then you have no right to represent the citizens of the country for whom the constitution was written. Just about every senator and congressman in our federal government disgusts me today, because not one of them is talking about the principle of freedom as it relates to personal responsibility. Without the power to be responsible and the understanding that there is no freedom without it, the prosperity and success of our country is lost. Is that what you want?
jeff m .black forest, CODecember 3, 2008x
Douglas N .Maplewood, MNDecember 3, 2008In light of the recent spending spree by the Congress, we desperately need a fiscal conservative to help hold the line on these insane rates of spending. We need Jim DeMint in a position to speak for those of us footing this increasingly huge tax bill.
Donna D .Albany, GADecember 3, 2008We definitely need Conservative leaders on the Finance Committee.

DeArle S .Blissfield, MIDecember 3, 2008x
Jean R .Plainville, CTDecember 3, 2008x
Nancy G .Ocean City, NJDecember 3, 2008x
Mary M .Orion, MIDecember 3, 2008We need all of our elected representatives to treat their oath of office as a covenant that they have made to the people and not just some preliminary to get through. We need representatives who will put forth the effort to stop the porkbarrel spending that has made us the largest debtor nation in the world. That is why we need to have on the Finance Committee.
Alan S .Eldersburg, MDDecember 3, 2008Senator DeMint has a proven record as an anti-pork fighter and tax code reformer. His top conservative ranking the last two years is second to none!
Vyvyan D .Holliday, TXDecember 3, 2008Protect the taxpayer's interests; be diligent; spend like it's your own paltry monies -- much like it is mine! We must get our country on an even keel -- toward balancing the budget -- and headed back toward the ideals of our forefathers who put God first and aimed for His goals in dealing with people, issues and money. His way is THE way! I have faith that there are still good people who will fight for the common man. Please allow me to keep that faith. Thanks!

Jeffrey R .West Columbia, SCDecember 3, 2008x
Patrick C .Fultondale, ALDecember 3, 2008x
Patti M .Tyler, TXDecember 3, 2008Please appoint Senator DeMint to the Finance Committee. I had the pleasure of talking to him in a teleconference a couple of months ago and was very impressed with his answers to the questions that were asked of him. Now, more then ever, we need STRONG conservative voices to return this country to fiscal responsibility. As a small business owner, this year has just about put us out of business.

Rita R .Blacksburg, VADecember 3, 2008x
Janice S .Norcross, GADecember 3, 2008x
