Dr. Robert F .Cody, WYDecember 3, 2008True conservatism will be the saving grace of our society, excess gov't will be the downfall of this country which I love and have defended in military service.
Michael S .Chester, VADecember 3, 2008Fiscal responsibility is something that seems to be lacking in business and government. I'd like to see government change, I want to see Senator DeMint, a known fiscal conservative, serving on the Senate Finance Committee.
John M .Locust Valley, NYDecember 3, 2008This is a chance for the "Republicans" to put the United States of America before their own self interest and relection, as I am sure that the Socialists well. This may be your last chance!
Adele S .Mt. Pleasant, SCDecember 3, 2008There needs to be someone trying to reign in the absurd amount of overspending that goes on in the government!! We are expected to balance our checkbooks but the government does not understand that concept. We would be locked up if we overspent and spent on frivolous things like they do because we would be in debt and unable to pay. They are unable to pay and they keep spending; most Americans would keel over if they new the frivolous and ridiculous things that the government got away with spending!!! Please support Jim DeMint by putting him on the Finance Committee. I appreciate everything that he does for conservatives.

Peter P .Manitowoc, WIDecember 3, 2008I WOULD LIKE TO SEE CHANGE IN THE TAX CODES. WHAT I'D LIKE TO SEE CHANGED EVEN MORE ARE THE INTITLEMENTS AFFORDED TO POLITICIANS. I'D REALLY LIKE TO SEE SOME OF THESE POLITICIANS LIVE LIFE, LIKE WE CITIZEN'S MUST. I'D LIKE TO SEE THEM KEEP WITHIN THE LINES OF A BUDGET!

Jonathan A .Stearns, KYDecember 3, 2008Mr. McConnell; I have had issues with you in the past, especially in regards to your signing of the Bail Out bill. As I watch my ESOP and 401-K funds disappear, and the prices for my groceries continue to rise I respectfully ask you to do the right thing in this situation, and appoint Mr. DeMint to the Finance Committee as a voice of us here at the grass root level. Thank you.

Scott H .Boardman, OHDecember 3, 2008Put Sen. Jim DeMint on the Finance Committee 1. The Republican Party has an open slot available on the Senate Finance Committee. 2. Congress is taxing and spending at record levels, and has failed to reform the tax code and runaway entitlement programs. 3. Jim DeMint is a proven fighter against pork projects and for fundament tax and entitlement reform. BE IT RESOVED: That the Republican Party should fight for lower taxes and real reform by appointing Senator Jim DeMint to the Finance Committee. OBVIOUSLY the "nice guy" McCain method FAILED in November... Get back to CONSERVATISM!!!

Marvin D .Hurst, TXDecember 3, 2008x
Sally S .Paulden, AZDecember 3, 2008Republicans need to be more vocal and proactive, even if we failed to do so in the past. This was an easy way to keep alert and let our voices be heard. The SILENT majority is not the answer.
Wilma M .South San Francisco, CADecember 3, 2008It is important to have a strong and dedicated Senator like DeMint on the Finance Committee. With winning in Georgia we are taking a giant step forward with Demint on this committee
